Dr. María Del Carmen Reyes has been providing mental health services for over 16 years, working with adults, adolescents and children in private practice, community mental health centers, and correctional settings. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Master of Science in Psychology and Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology General Practice from Carlos Albizu University, an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university in Miami, Florida. She’s also a member of the National Board of Counselors (NBCC) and American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Dr. Maria was born in Cuba to deaf-mute parents and raised in Miami since the age of 2 when her parents immigrated to the USA, Dr. Maria is fully bilingual and naturally developed cultural sensitivity among patients with different ages, and diverse socio-economic status who present with a broad range of biopsychosocial conditions. Dr. Maria is a certified trauma specialist using various evidenced based practices such as EMDR and CBT. Dr. Maria began providing Couple’s Therapy alongside her husband Dr. Pedro P. Reyes, DMin., MSgt. (Ret.) in their private practice and together began to find a passion for assisting couples in developing and maintaining a successful marriage utilizing biblical principles alongside clinical interventions. Dr. Maria and her husband enjoy serving twice a year at Weekend to Remember marriage retreats from the FamilyLife ministry and readily accepted when invited from FamilyLife leaders to provide seminars in the Kitsap peninsula to reach other couples to enjoy and learn to enrich their marriages in a fun filled format. Upon graduating High School, Dr. Pedro P. Reyes enlisted in the premier fighting organization known as the US Marines. Dr. Pedro received an honorable discharge after 21 years of service. The Lord called Dr. Pedro and his wife Dr. Maria to Washington state in 2018. He and his wife having launched the PsychWay venture in 2018 have continuously provided therapeutic services to include individual and couples’ counseling. Dr. Pedro holds a Doctor of Ministry, with credentials as a Certified Pastoral Counselor, Christian Life Coach, and a Certified Mental Health Advocate through the American Association of Christian Counselors. He has a Bachelor of Psychology from Ashford University and a Master’s in Divinity through Liberty University. In 2024 Dr. Pedro completed his studies for a Doctoral degree in Divinity and in 2025 began working on his PhD in Applied Christian Apologetics. Dr. Pedro is married to Dr. Maria Del Carmen Reyes, and they have five children and 8 grandchildren. He currently resides in Poulsbo and is a deacon at Calvary Chapel Poulsbo.
